The Stern Head Mystery
A Bentley / Breeze Adventure
(steam radio version)
To coincide with Wyntercon 2017 Afterthought Theatre and Studio1919 present a heroes and monsters adventure comedy.
Sitting on a cliff top shrouded in mist and mystery … the Stern Head Conservatoire, a finishing school where the daughters of super rich are well and truly finished.
Every modern facility the 1920s has to offer, from Miss Willowbark’s debutante assault course to the school abattoir.
When a girl is killed and another driven mad, undercover chap Courtney Bentley persuades the intrepid Mrs Lorna Breeze to infiltrate the school as the new escapology mistress.
She will need all her skills to survive and foil the villainous plot that threatens to unleash an unspeakable horror…
A modern comic book story set in the 1920s and presented in the style of a 1950s radio serial.

Thomas has digitally restored a set of century-old Mutoscope cards featuring Dan Leno
Formerly believed lost, this re-discovered one-minute silent gem is an important record from a time when very little film survives, and is one of the few known moving picture images of the greatest star of the Victorian stage
The restored film will receive its world premiere at the British Music Hall Society‘s 50th anniversary celebrations at Wilton’s Music Hall, London, on Friday September 20th 2013, introduced by Roy Hudd
